Who operates Pulse

Pulse is a website and SEO monitoring service operated by Nathan Norman personally. This policy applies to individuals and organizations using Pulse. For privacy, access, correction, or deletion requests, contact support@mypulsemonitoring.com.

Information we collect

  • Account information: Google sign-in provides your name, email address, profile image, and account identifier. We store account settings, team memberships, and information you provide when contacting us.
  • Monitoring information: websites and URLs you add, page content and metadata, crawl results, links, indexing and search performance, uptime, errors, infrastructure metrics, reports, and actions taken in Pulse.
  • Connected services: credentials or authorization tokens and the information needed to provide the integrations you enable. Only connect services and websites you are authorized to manage.
  • Billing information: Stripe processes payments. Pulse stores customer and subscription references, plan status, and usage and credit records. Card details are entered through Stripe.
  • Operational information: essential authentication cookies, request and error logs, and information used to protect and maintain the service.

Google Search Console and AI features

Connecting Search Console gives Pulse read-only access to properties you can access and their search and indexing information. This includes queries, URLs, clicks, impressions, positions, and inspection results. We store an authorization token for scheduled monitoring and retain results to show history and changes.

Pulse uses relevant website content, monitoring findings, and connected Search Console information to generate AI briefs, explanations, and recommendations through OpenAI. This processing can occur in scheduled briefs as well as analyses you request. Pulse stores generated results and usage records; OpenAI also processes and retains information under its applicable service terms. We do not promise zero retention.

We use Google data for the monitoring, reporting, and AI features described here. We do not sell Google data or use it for advertising or credit decisions. Transfers are limited to providing the features you authorize, security, legal requirements, or other uses permitted by Google's policy. Human access to Google data is limited to your affirmative permission for specific data, necessary security or legal purposes, or permitted aggregated internal operations.

Our handling of Google API information follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

How information is used and shared

We use information to provide monitoring and reports, authenticate accounts, manage subscriptions, respond to support requests, prevent misuse, and maintain Pulse. Authorized members of your workspace can access information available to that workspace.

Our service providers include Amazon Web Services for hosting and storage, Google for sign-in and connected features, Stripe for payments, and OpenAI for AI analysis. Other integrations you enable exchange information needed for their features. We may disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect users and the service.

Pulse's production application data is hosted in AWS's US East (Northern Virginia) region. Providers may process information in other countries. We use HTTPS and access controls, and encrypt supported integration credentials. No system can guarantee complete security.

Optional analytics and cookies

With your permission, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits to Pulse and improve the service. Analytics is optional: declining does not limit Pulse features. We do not load Google Analytics or send analytics events until you choose Allow analytics. Essential sign-in cookies remain necessary to operate your account.

Analytics uses a browser identifier and collects page views and engagement, browser and device information, approximate location, and referring website origins. We send general page names and route categories, removing query strings, fragments, customer site and page identifiers, and custom page titles. We do not send account names, emails, monitored website content, your connected Google Search Console data, or payment details to Analytics. Advertising personalization, Google signals, and automatic form, search, and outbound-link measurement are disabled.

Your choice and analytics cookies last up to 180 days. After you choose, the notice goes away. Change it here if you want to. Declining after accepting clears Pulse's analytics cookies, reloads the page, and stops future collection; it does not delete information already processed by Google. You can contact us about deletion. Google processes analytics information under its terms, including processing outside your country. Retention, deletion, and confirmation

We retain account and monitoring information while needed to provide your account, monitoring history, and support, and for applicable billing, security, dispute, and legal obligations. Canceling a subscription stops renewal according to its terms; it does not automatically delete your account or monitoring history.

To request access, correction, or deletion, email support@mypulsemonitoring.com from your account email and identify the account or sites concerned. Do not send passwords or API keys. We verify your identity and authority, clarify requests involving shared workspaces, and delete or anonymize the records within the confirmed scope unless retention is required or permitted by law.

You may request written confirmation when deletion is completed. The confirmation will explain what was deleted and any records retained, the reason for retention, and any remaining provider or backup limitations. Billing, fraud-prevention, dispute, and legally required records may remain. Backup copies are removed through applicable backup retention cycles; deletion from active records is not a promise of immediate erasure from every backup or provider system.

You can remove monitored sites in Pulse and revoke Google access through your Google Account connections. Revoking access stops future authorized retrieval but does not itself delete previously stored information. Account deletion is currently handled by request, not an automated self-service feature.

Your rights and policy changes

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights concerning your information, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or contacting a privacy regulator. Contact us to exercise applicable rights. We respond within the time required by applicable law.

Pulse is not directed to children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information. We will update this policy when practices change and revise its effective date. Material changes to Google data use will be disclosed and consent obtained where required.
